Nick Matthews

Nick is an original solo acoustic performer. His song list has over 2 hours of original music with styles including ballad, funk, rock & pop and a unique blend of all. 

Nick has been playing acoustic guitar and singing for 15 years and has a wealth of performing experience. The first solo spot he had was at a local talent night when he was 17.  He performed 2 of his original songs “Joels Song” & “Crashes Down” and won the auspicious prize of a Cherry Ripe. That sweet taste of success has spurred him on through the years where he has continued to write and perform to just about anybody that will listen.

Nick has been able to use his song writing to tap into a deeply personal & emotive style. Several of his songs are poignant reminders of the fragility of life but still provide an uplifting vibe.

He has played several solo gigs in Cairns at the Courthouse/Bar Embassy & the old Fox & Firkin. Upon moving to South Australia Nick did gigs in Adelaide at the Prince Albert, SCALA nights at the Joiners Arms & Goodwood Hotel. And recently In Townsville he has performed at the Folk Club, JCU Uni Bar & a 4 hour gig at Brothers Leagues Club after a Cowboys home game.  

Nick can also play a range of covers from the old school (Cat Stevens, Tom Petty etc) and the new guys (Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, Pete Murray & Beautiful Girls) to round out a great set list of original and covers music.

Nick also plays in new Townsville original band Interstella with John, Davey & Simon.
